Shuji Inatomi, 42, is a Democratic Party of Japan politician who recently ran for reelection for his seat in the House of Representatives, representing Fukuoka's Second District. He was defeated in this reelction campaign in December, 2012.

He delivered a speech on December 12th at a political rally held for his reelection campaign. While the speech stressed economic concerns, the issue of radiation exposure in Fukuoka Prefecture was not raised.

The Democratic Party of Japan does, however, have a major plank in its party platform pledging to eliminate the use of nuclear power in Japan within 40 years.
